DESCRIPTION:The Allen Family invites you to support \n\n\n\nCruise for a Cause\n\nThe Sitka Against Family Violence (SAFV) Women's Shelter\n\nGrowing a SAFV Home for Sitka's Women & Children\n\n\n\n \n\nChichagof Dream\n\n\n\nFriday\, May 10th\, 2019\n\n6:00 pm   9:30 pm\n\n\n\n \n\nGuided tour of the Chichagof Dream\n\n\n\nFive-course meal\n\n\n\nComplimentary glass of Wine or Beer\n\n\n\nRSVP by May 6th\, 2019\n\n\n\nPlease meet at the Allen Marine Dock at 6:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nSitkan's Against Family Violence will have a new shelter thanks to the generosity of foundations\, business donors and donations from Sitkans. The project has been in the works since 2014. It has been a long haul but we are pleased to announce that we will finally be breaking ground in May.\n\n \n\nSAFV has been delivering services from a 60-year-old building that is in serious need of help. As the number of residents at our shelter has grown\, the basic requirements for healing\, safety\, and dignity are being compromised. Often women have to sleep on sofas in living and meeting rooms when the bedrooms are full. The roof is leaking\, the boiler is past due for replacement and the bathroom floors are rotted. \n\n \n\nSAFV has been able to raise enough necessary funding to get the project started but will be forced to take out a loan for up to $300\,000 if additional funds are not raised. Your contributions will provide a safe and healing environment for our residents and make it possible for staff to focus on the services to prevent future domestic violence. \n\n\n\n\n\nPlease join the Allen Family aboard the Chichigof Dream to support this important organization. This VIP event is open to Sitka Chamber members and invited guests and space is limited based on a first-come\, first served basis.\n\n \n\nPlease make contributions to the SAFV Woman's Shelter and a no-host bar will be available either by cash or credit card.
