DESCRIPTION:Weekly luncheons are held every Wednesday at noon. Enjoy great food\, dynamic speakers\, and exciting networking opportunities. Chamber luncheons are open to the public. Chamber members receive special member-only pricing.\n\n\n\nExecutive Lunch Sponsor\n\nUpgrade to the Executive Lunch and receive VIP treatment including cookies and special prize drawings.\n\n\n\nSpeaker\n\nDoug Osborne\, Employee Wellness\, Recognition and Training Coordinator\n\nSEARHC\, Sitka Health Summit Steering Committee\n\n\n\nBiography\n\nDoug Osborne was born in Chicago and lived with his brother\, sister and parents in Illinois\, Ohio\, Indiana\, Texas and Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1995 and then came to Ketchikan\, Alaska in 1996 to work as a VISTA volunteer.  From there\, he spent a year in Kanayama Japan (Ketchikan's sister city) and then headed to Anchorage with his lovely wife Jami\, where they both attend grad school at Alaska Pacific University.  For the last ten and half years\, Doug has been working at SEARHC\, currently as the Employee Wellness Recognition and Training coordinator.  For that last eight years\, Doug has also been one of the SEARHC representatives on the Sitka Health Summit Steering Committee.\n\n\n\nPresentation\n\nSitka Health Summit\, Getting results locally\, turning heads nationally.\n\n\n\nIn June of 2013\, 251 communities from across the nation submitted applications for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundations Roadmap to Health Prize. The prize honors outstanding community partnerships that are helping people live healthier lives and this summer six prize winning communities will be receiving a $25\,000 no strings attached cash prize.\n\n\n\nThe Sitka Health Summit steering committee wrote an entry on behalf of our community and last fall we received the good news that we were getting a site visit because we were one of the twelve finalists! \n\n\n\nCome and find out why Sitka made it to the finals\, be the first to get important updates on the community selected Health Summit initiatives that impact everyone in town.  And finally hear about a simple replicable model that's getting results locally and turning heads nationally.
