Lewin II\n\nUnited States Coast Guard\n\n \n\nCommander Chip Lewin assumed the duties of Commanding Officer of Air Station Sitka on June 10\, 2016.\n\n \n\nCommander Lewin graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 1995 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation\, his first assignment was as a deck watch officer and boarding officer on the USCGC VIGILANT\, based in Cape Canaveral\, FL. He then completed Naval Flight Training at NAS Pensacola and NAS Whiting Field\, and was designated a Coast Guard Aviator in 1998.\n\n \n\nCommander Lewin's first aviation tour was at Air Station Miami\, where he served as an HH-65A Aircraft Commander and completed his Aeronautical Engineering syllabus and designation. In 2001\, Commander Lewin was assigned as the Engineering Officer at Group/Air Station Port Angeles\, WA\, where he also served as an Instructor Pilot in the HH-65A.\n\n \n\nFrom 2004-2006\, Commander Lewin attended Old Dominion University where he completed a master's degree in Aerospace Structural Engineering. In 2006 was assigned as the HU-25 Engineer\, then the Medium Range Surveillance Engineer at the Aviation Repair and Supply Center\, which is now the Aviation Logistics Center in Elizabeth City\, NC.  Commander Lewin also served as an Aircraft Commander in the HU-25 until tour complete in 2010 when he transferred to Sector San Diego as the Engineering Officer. While at Sector San Diego\, Commander Lewin served as an Aircraft Commander in the MH-60T while managing Sector engineering\, which included aviation\, naval and civil engineering\, and weapons for all Sector assets. \n\n \n\nCommander Lewin served as Executive Officer of Air Station Sitka from May 2013 to June 2016\, where he served as an Alaska Aircraft Commander\, and was responsible for mission execution and base level support of the 60 acre facility and 5 Coast Guard units with over 500 active duty members and dependents.\n\n \n\nCommander Lewin is certified as a DHS Program Manager Level II\, Test and Evaluation Manager\, Life Cycle Logistics Manager\, Systems Engineering Manager\, Air Transport Pilot and Commercial Flight Instructor/Instruments.\n\n \n\nCommander Lewin's military decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal\, three Coast Guard Commendation Medals\, three Coast Guard Achievement Medals\, two National Defense Service Medals\, Humanitarian Service Medal\, Meritorious Team Commendation\, and numerous other unit\, team\, and service awards.\n\n\n\n\n\nMenu\n\nChicken Alfredo\, Veggie and Salad Bar
