In exchange\, the CLT limits the price at which the initial homeowner can sell his/her home\, allowing the seller to build equity while ensuring that the home remains affordable for the next homebuyer household without requiring additional assistance. Michael will discuss community land trusts and how they operate\, as well as the CLT initiative currently being planned by the Sitka Community Development Corporation.\n\n	\n\n	Biography\n\n	Michael Brown is a Partner in Burlington Associates in Community Development. He served as the founding Executive Director of Woodland Community Land Trust in Clairfield TN\, one of the first CLTs in the country\, and later as co-director of the Institute for Community Economics. For the past 15 years\, his primary work through Burlington Associates has been providing technical and consulting assistance to establish and build the capacity of 60+ new and existing CLTs and bolstering public and private sector support for CLTs   through the National CLT Network\, Cornerstone Partnership and directly through Burlington Associates. He lives with his life partner in rural Collegeville Township in central Minnesota.
