Presenters will share the economic boost that the Hames Center provides for Sitka and in turn\, how Sitkans "get richer" too! \n\n\n\nBiography\n\nCindy Edwards\, (Outgoing Director) has been serving in this position for the past 5+ years. She is passionate about community wellness and assisting people in broadening their health journeys. She moved to Sitka in the winter of 1996 after 6 years working in community building projects. In Sitka\, she has worked in a variety of jobs including\; therapist for Islands Counseling\, Adolescent Substance Abuse Counselor (outpatient clinic)\, and a bike-n-hike guide. The Hames Center project has been a true honor and privilege to experience and she looks forward to sharing what offerings exist today\, what kind of impact it makes in the economy of Sitka\, and the partnerships that exist in and out of town.\n\n\n\nCaitlin Blaisdell\, the incoming Director of the Hames Center\, began her journey here 3 years ago at Hames Center as an AmeriCorps VISTA\, developing the Hames Wellness Fund. After completion of her year in service and a brief hiatus from Sitka\, Caitlin returned to the Hames Center as Assistant Director. Prior to living in Sitka\, Caitlin worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a research coordinator in ovarian cancers. Helping people achieve healthy lifestyles and a higher quality of life is a guiding passion of Caitlin.
