The school district is using an online platform to gather ideas from the community about\n\nhow to better serve students and families. Top ideas will be incorporated into the district's strategic plan and help shape education for the next 3-5 years.\n\n\n\nBio\n\n Dr. Mary Wegner is the superintendent of the Sitka School District. Mary is passionate about transforming the learning landscape to be relevant for today's students and advocates for policies and funding that promote the value of public education to society and the necessity of learning in digital-rich environments for success in life. The Sitka School District is a proud member of the League of Innovative Schools. In addition to her work in the school district\, Mary serves on the Alaska State Council on the Arts and works to end poverty and homelessness in Sitka.
