This biennial conference is the premiere professional development opportunity for math and science teachers statewide\, and over 300 educators from across the state are expected to attend. The presentation will give an overview of the conference schedule and ways that Sitka businesses will be affected.\n\n\n\nBiography \n\nLyle Sparrowgrove has had 40 years? experience in education with 31 years in the classroom teaching mathematics\, 4 years in administration as an assistant principal and activity director\, and 6 years as an educational consultant.  His 27 years in Alaska were spent teaching mathematics at the middle and high school level in a rural and urban school district.  Working with school activities has always been a priority with him through his coaching of multiple sports and having refereed a variety of sports.  He has been an active member in the mathematics community nationally\, statewide\, and locally in Southeast Alaska.\n\n\n\nRebecca has been a teacher in the Sitka School District since 2004\, although she student taught at Verstovia Elementary in 1994. Since 2010 Rebecca has been the Science Specialist at Keet Gooshi Heen Elementary School. She is a past board member of the Alaska Science Teachers Association.\n\n\n\nBobbi Jordan has been teaching for approximately 30 years in a variety of venues.  Her experience has covered a range of grades from middle school to the college level.  She has taught in Oregon and Texas before coming to Alaska.  She has served on the Alaska Council of Teachers of Mathematics President serving 2 terms\, and is currently the Southeast Region Representative for the organization.   Bobbi is also an active photographer in the community and volunteers with several organizations in Sitka.
