He attended Harvard College and graduated with a degree in U.S. History.  Rob worked in the family company\, Allen Marine\, with responsibility for the tourism side of the business and Administration.  He has served on the Sitka Assembly\, Sitka Visitor's Bureau Board\, Southeast Alaska Tourism Council Board\, Southeast Conference Board\, Sitkans Against Family Violence Board\, Island Institute Board\, Forakker Group Board\, Rasmuson Foundation Board.  Rob is currently on the Sitka Sound Science Center Board\, Sheldon Jackson College Board of Trustees\, and The Piatagorsky Foundation Board\,  He left the family business to go back to school in 2006\, received Masters in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School of Government.  Rob came out of semi-retirement this year to start R&R Marine here in Sitka\, charter business offering week long trips for up to six people between Sitka and Juneau on the motor yacht Midsummer Dream.  He has recently agreed to stay on as permanent CEO at Sitka Community Hospital.
