DESCRIPTION:Weekly luncheons are held every Wednesday at noon. Enjoy great food\, dynamic speakers\, and exciting networking opportunities. Chamber luncheons are open to the public. Chamber members receive special member-only pricing.\n\n\n\nExecutive Lunch\n\nUpgrade to the Executive Lunch and receive VIP treatment including cookies and special prize drawings.\n\n\n\nExecutive Lunch Sponsor \n\nFirst National Bank Alaska - Gift Basket\n\n\n\nSpeaker\n\nDoug Osborne\, MA\,  Sitka Community Hospital's Director of Health Promotion will give a talk about Sitka\, Alaska being selected as finalist for RWJF Culture of Health Prize.\n\n\n\nBio                  \n\n Doug Osborne was born in Chicago and lived with his brother\, sister and parents in Illinois\, Ohio\, Indiana\, Texas and Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1995 and then came to Ketchikan Alaska in 1996 to work as a VISTA volunteer. From there he spent a year in Kanayama Japan (Ketchikan's sister city) and then headed to Anchorage\, with his lovely wife Jami\, where they both attend grad. School at Alaska Pacific University. From 2003   2014 Doug worked at SEARHC and now he is now the Director of Health Promotion at the Sitka Community Hospital.  \n\n\n\nPresentation\n\nThe Robert Wood Johnson Foundations Culture of Health Prize honors and elevates U.S. communities that are making great strides in their journey toward better health for all.  In 2018\, 183 communities applied for the $25\,000 cash prize.  Sitka made it to the final round of 12 communities.  This Spring RWJF will be visiting Sitka and the prize winners\, usually 4-6 communities\, will be announced in the fall of 2019.  Sitka Community Hospital's Director of Health Promotion & Sitka Health Summit Coalition member\, Doug Osborne\, will be highlighting what went into Sitka's essays\, the benefits of  prize \, and ideas on how everyone can help to build a culture of health for all. The presentation will also include a brief overview of Sitka's annual snap shot of health with the RWJF county health rankings.  SEARHC health educator and Sitka Cycling Club member Emma Klein will do a special presentation and raffle as well.
