In that time I have worked for substance abuse prevention\, education\, treatment programs as the administrator in Ketchikan and Sitka. I helped develop graduation standards for Ketchikan School District and was an elected official on the Ketchikan City Council. For 8 years I owned and operated my own small tour business\, Sitka Bike and Hike\, offering biking\, hiking\, birding and photography tours. I worked for the State of Alaska Dept of Labor for three years as a Career Guide and spent four years as an AmeriCorps as the ED for the Greater Sitka Arts Council. I am now employed part time with the Sitka Historical Society to provide programs and activities for the 150thanniversary of the transfer of Alaska from Russia to the United States. I am also a contract guide for Road Scholar and still work with the Greater Sitka Arts Council on the wearable art show\, Sitka's version of the Wait Wait Don't Tell Me radio comedy news quiz show\, and the recent Sitkans Can Dance show.
