Deborah has been involved with commercial fishing since 1978 when she fished a hand troller "The Nibble". Married Dave Lyons and fished the troller long liner from 1985 until 1999. She served on the Alaska Stated Board of Fisheries from 1990 to 1999 and on the Pacific Salmon Commission from 1995 to 1999. She is the past Executive Director of the Pacific Salmon Treaty Coalition from 1995-2000 and Jan 2016 to October 2017.
