Currently\, he is the publisher of the Juneau Empire and has previously worked at the Anchorage Daily News and the Daily Republic in South Dakota.  Rustan currently serves as Past Chair for the United Way of Southeast Alaska's Board of Directors.\n\n \n\nWarren Russell\n\nWarren is a retired Coast Guard Officer with 25 years of military service. Enlisted at 18 and went to boot camp in Cape May NJ. Worked up the enlisted ranks for 12 years before receiving an OCS commission\, spent the remaining 13 years serving in various leadership positions across the country that led to a final assignment as the Chief of Communications\, Security and Technology for the 17th CG District in Juneau.\n\n Currently he serves as the Regional Vice President in Southeast Alaska for General Communications Inc. (GCI). Since 2005 has managed daily operations\, systems and services in the panhandle along with 7 retail stores that provide Internet\, wireless\, television and local/long distance phone services to customers.\n\n Warren and wife Lori claim Bordentown\, New Jersey as their hometown. They have been married for 31 years and have two adult sons Kyle and Chris. Warren and family came to Alaska via Kodiak in 1997 and have resided in Juneau since 2000.\n\n Warren is the Chair Elect and Campaign Co-Chair for United Way of Southeast Alaska.\n\n \n\nWayne Stevens' knowledge of the challenges facing nonprofits\, businesses and communities includes more than four decades of living in Alaska\, from Barrow to Kenai\, to Kodiak Island\, to the state's capital. He worked as President/CEO for the Alaska State Chamber for over 6 years\, served as Executive Director of the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce for 19 years\, worked for Wien Air Alaska for over 11 years and has been with the United Way since July 0f 2011.  \n\nHe served as Board President of the Southwest Alaska Municipal Conference during the Stellar Sea Lion mitigation program\, which distributed $31 million to impacted communities\, fishermen and industry when fishing in the Gulf of Alaska and the Bering Sea was impacted by shutdown ordered by the courts.  \n\nHis community service includes eleven years as a member of the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly\, Board Member and Chair of the Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center and service on community advisory boards for Alaska Airlines\, Alyeska Pipeline Service Company and Wells Fargo.
