With year-round access to residential and rehearsal facilities\, Stevenson Hall enables the Festival to expand programming into new areas such as the Sitka Cello Seminar for cello performance majors from colleges and conservatories across the country. Students involved with the Seminar will join Bailey to present information about the seminar and share a brief performance.\n\n\n\nBiography\n\nZuill Bailey is widely considered one of the premiere cellists in the world. His rare combination of celebrated artistry\, technical wizardry and engaging personality have secured his place as one of the most sought after and active cellists today. Bailey was named Artistic Director of the Sitka Summer Festival in 2011\, following the retirement of founding Artistic Director Paul Rosenthal. The musical excellence of the Sitka Summer Festival and series inspires enthusiastic praise from Mr. Bailey. I am truly honored to carry the torch for such a prestigious festival that makes an incredible impact on the arts and the State of Alaska.
