Update on the University of Alaska Sitka Campus Operations
The University of Alaska's budget was cut by 41% by the State of Alaska for the fiscal year starting July 1st. In July the Board of Regent declared financial exigency and directed the UA President to explore combining the 3 separately accredited universities into one accredited university. What does this mean for the local Sitka Campus? The fall semester starts on August 26th and is going forward as planned.
