Coast Guard Auxiliary Free Boating Safety Event May 24—Lifejacket Safety at Blatchley Middle School Pool from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. This is a free class with an opportunity to try on your own lifejacket in the water. Doors open at 6:30 and we will close at 8:30, so this is a drop-in event. You are welcome to come in anytime and when done you may leave. This is not an open swim. We will have a variety of lifejackets available for people to try thanks also to AMSEA. If you wish you might want to find out what it feels like in the water with a pair of pants and a shirt on in the water. Just put those on over your bathing suit and make sure everything is clean-lifejacket and clothing. No shoes or socks. Commercial fishers are also welcome and they can bring their immersion suits to try on in the water. Again, just make sure that whatever goes into the water is clean. We will also have some re-boarding devices/aides such as a variety of throwable devices for you to try. For further information contact: Mike Morris at 747-8039 or Email at: sitkaaux@hotmail.com
