Silver Savers are back for 2024!

Where can I get a Silver Saver?
The brand new 2024-2025 Silver Saver Discount Cards will be in stores on Monday, April 1st, and can be purchased for just $20 at any participating store. The Sitka Chamber office does not sell Silver Saver cards.

The Sitka Chamber's highly popular discount card program has been providing Sitka residents with amazing discounts in local stores for over 16 years! Not only do these cards increase awareness and traffic for participating businesses, but they also work to build shopping loyalty in Sitka. An average of 900 Silver Saver Discount cards are distributed every year, reaching about 10% of Sitka’s total population. The Sitka Chamber makes an annual donation of Silver Saver cards to the Coast Guard for families moving to Sitka. It is a great way to welcome them to our community and show them the value of shopping local. 

Each participating business is given 15 cards that can be sold to customers for their face value of $20 each ($300 total) or given to loyal customers as a reward for shopping at your store. If the initial twenty cards have been sold, participating businesses can purchase additional cards at a wholesale price. They can be purchased in packs of 20 at 25% off retail value.

How many cards are sold every year? The Silver Saver card is a part of the Sitka Chamber's year round #ShopSitkaLocal program. Hundreds of Sitka Silver Saver Discount Cards are distributed every year. The Sitka Chamber makes an annual donation of Sitka Silver Saver cards to the Coast Guard for families moving to Sitka as a way to welcome them to our community and show them the value of shopping local.

What kind of discount should I offer? Keep your offer as simple as possible, such as 5% Off Storewide (Sale Items Excluded), 10% Off Storewide on Weekends, or 10% Off Clothing. Remember, your goal is to promote your business and draw in customers, so you want your discount to be easy to use. 

What if I can’t sell all of my cards? Silver Saver cards make a great gift for loyal customers or can be a fun prize for a drawing in your store. If your goal is to sell them, remember that the businesses that sell the most cards are usually the ones that have been on the card for many years and offer an easy-to-use discount. 

Advertising on the Silver Saver card will open on Monday, February 12th, 2024 for members of the Chamber. The final day to secure your place on the card is Monday, March 22nd, 2024.
