Bio
Fran and her son came to Sitka in 1994 from Charleston, SC, to attend college at Sheldon Jackson College.
She fell in love with Sitka the minute they drove across the O'Connell bridge. 
Fran completed her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1998. 
Throughout college, Fran worked as an assistant child care teacher and after college she was hired a preschool teacher for 2 years.
She then took a position as a case manager for 3 years and a Program Coordinator for 1 year. 
Fran began working with the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development in 2004, with the Career Support and Training Services, then was reassigned as an Employment Specialist and promoted to an Employment Services Manager in 2016.  Fran's many positions within the department has provided her with vast experience in all aspects of the services we provide to both Job Seekers and Employers.
Fran has a 20-year-old son who is attending college in Portland, Oregon, studying to be an Elementary school teacher.
